I don't get it (litteraly), I won a tee shirt in week 3 and still have not received it by mail. Also, I've now won a tee shirt in week 13 (5 loses, and 6 for Burt), but had the exact score of the Pats 31. Do I get 2 tee shirts mailed to me at one time?..I've tried very hard to reach Bill Burt, but he is un-touchable I guess..nothing from him at all.

And Clemens won the Game 7 pennant clincher in 1986 (while sick from the flu) and would have won two world series clinchers if it hadn't been for Calvin Schiraldi and Mariano Rivera (his one blown save in the post season was Game 7 against the Diamondbacks after Clemens had outdueled MVP Curt Schilling).

Good for him. He got his money, which is what he really wanted and he gets to play on a mediocre team with no head coach for a little while. There's no denying he's good, but he was becoming toxic to the team and we are rebuilding. To go 14-2 on a rebuilding year and gaining more young talent to speed up our defense, I think Belichick is doing something right. I, for one, am not worried.

I agree the numbers are skewed a bit. But even after weeding through those eventual pros, you have to admit it's a little sad. The problem is that most of the athletes that play at a lot of big-time football and basketball schools are basically indentured servants. And, in the end, don't even get the diploma.

The graduation rates are essentially meaningless. If a kid transfers to another school, it counts against you. If a junior leaves school early to sign a multi-million dollar contract, it counts against you., If a new coach comes in to the basketball program and 3 kids transfer, your graduation rate for basketball just tanked for the next 4 years. I don't think a kid becoming a 20 year old multi-millionaire because of his athletic talent should somehow reflect negatively on the school. Personally, I think they should filter out the kids that go pro in the sport, and look at the graduation rate of the rest of team. I think that tells us a lot more about how seriously the school takes the term student - athlete.

Example - my alma mater, Purdue. Dropped in grad rates for basketball, primarily because of some transfers. Meanwhile, last time I checked, the team was carrying a 3.0 or better GPA, one the starters is an academic All-American, and I believe 3 kids were Academic All-Big 10 last year. By any reasonable measure, they are doing a great job with academics on the basketball team.

mvcfann88 ... You are pulling hairs here. We are in 2011, and Buddy is with Patriots. Of course, he could be cut at any time. So could Tom Brady ... My guess is, though, that Buddy is around next season. Reports are Pats coaches loved his work ethic and the fact he's willing to try safety.
