ETBlogs Sports: Could this be the Patriots year?

Even the Giants, as dominant as they are, have weaknesses - the Eagles wound up giving away a winnable game against them and scored 31 on them; the Cardinals showed the Giants can be scored on.

The Patriots have been the deepest team all decade, and that they're suddenly scoring as much as they did last year (and this time in the immediate run-up to playoffs) is a superb sign.

Those 10 reasons are not convincing at all. This team is good, but clearly not good enough. They don't have any impressive wins yet this season. This is a big test against Pitt, even though it's home and they have the edge there. This team will not win a playoff game on the road. The defense just is not good enough. Good team, but nothing special for sure.

    Not convincing? You are tough.
This team is not perfect by any stretch. In any other year their chances of getting into deep January would slim. This year, with no great or even very good team, the Patriots have a chance. They need a few things to go their way, like a little more aggressiveness and forced turnovers on defense, but I like their chances. So take that.
