A source has just told me Asante wants about $11 million, which would put him ahead of Tom Brady. It appears that $8.5 million is as far as the Patriots would go. Stay tuned.

I believe he is gone. I just think with the Super Bowl loss and the recent "spygate" stuff added on to his demands to be paid like the best corner in the league that he will be elsewhere.
It's easy to say the Pats should sign him, but I believe Belichick probably has a value for him and he won't probably won't budge. If I had that number (I guess is $8 mill a year over four years vs. the $10 million he wants) I would know for sure.

This is totally unrelated, but you think Asante is gone? I heard reports but wasn't sure. I was really hoping he would stay. I think he is a bit overrated but there is nothing out there on the market. I heard Michael Holley say today that there is litlle chance he will be back, and what Holley says I usually listen to!

Wow. Really should have sold my autographed Clemens Bat from the World Series back when he was with the Yankees. And autographed photo and ball a few years ago. If he gets indicted I might at well give it to my dog to chew on!
